Bizquip was awarded the furniture contract for the Macken House project due to our proven track record and good standing relationship with Virgin Media. Our role as experts in our field included sourcing the furniture in line with Virgin Media’s vision and to provide solutions for the brief within the parameters of both the client’s needs and the architect’s vision.
Lynne Casserley of our interiors team worked alongside Virgin Media’s Mike Nolan, who managed the project from conception to completion, also Brian Gallagher (Senior Facilities Manager) and Stephen Doyle (Facilities). Bizquip’s role included liaising with the Sonica team to ensure the architect’s vision was fulfilled/maintained in line with the client’s requirements.
Macken House marked a fresh start for Virgin Media and a new opportunity to create an open plan working environment that focused on the importance of office ergonomics and teamwork. Staff wellbeing and comfort was an extremely important requirement in furniture selection. As ergonomics was a key factor, MDD’s Sit and Stand desks were a must-have for their office requirements. Equally the Humanscale Diffrient World chair was a great choice as it caters to 99.9% of the population and automatically syncs to the individual, therefore there is no need to manoeuvre or adjust the chair to suit each individual making it an ideal choice for a hot-desking environment.
Our longstanding supplier relationships shine in projects like this as we work together to ensure project timelines are met and budgets adhered to.
Virgin Media’s brand identity and iconic typography was central to the design and our favourite product feature are the lockers from MDD. Initially, they were plain white when installed and Sonica used their own manifestation to personalise and make them a bespoke piece of furniture for Virgin Media. The Hot Boxes are also the perfect fit for a hot-desking environment as they are the essence of agile working, allowing the transportation of all your important items in style from your personal locker to your desk.
Our team at Bizquip, with Lynne Casserley at the forefront, ensured a collaborative effort in design, costing, processing, logistics, and technical installation to ensure all timeframes were met and having our own dedicated team of experienced Fitters allowed us to be flexible with our installation, playing an integral role in ensuring the success of this project.
Mike Nolan Head of Sustainability Virgin Media at Virgin Media commented
“Working with the Bizquip team it’s clear that they value and service their clients’ needs to the highest degree. The project was built on a client relationship that had us at the forefront and this rapport was matched in equal measure in all other elements of delivery. Bizquip listened and provided multiple options without sacrificing timelines which were always met promptly if not ahead of time. The quality of the products Bizquip provides is second to none and the perfect fit for our project. We can’t recommend them highly enough. 5 stars all the way!”
