A huge congratulations the entire team at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) for the successful refurbishment project of the new, world-class Dental Education Centre in Sandyford, which officially opened in July 2025.
This €12M deep retrofit and re-purposing project was turned around in under 12 months by the internal RCSI team, with project management delivered in-house by RCSI Capital Projects.
The Sandyford centre will accommodate first- and second-year students and faculty. It includes 55 dental manikin simulators for early clinical skills training, a dental laboratory, and a 12-chair community clinic where students will treat patients under supervision.
The centre offers immersive, hands-on learning supported by interdisciplinary collaboration and evidence-based teaching, and will greatly assist with the number of dentists trained in Ireland.
Bizquip were delighted assist with this project, supplying & installing the furniture requirements for the collaboration environments, training rooms and support areas in the new RCSI DEC, working to McCauley Daye O’Connell Architects design concept and plans.
The new Dental Education Centre is now ready for the first intake of students onto the new Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree programme from RCSI School of Dentistry – starting in September 2025.
