THE CHALLENGE

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Courts Service has requested the filing of appeal papers electronically in civil appeals in PDF format.

As per the notice, the filing party should submit the relevant appeal papers to the Office either by secure file transfer, via secure data rooms or via a cloud server. There are various commercially available secure file transfer tools (such as Mimecast), secure data rooms (such as HighQ or Collaborate), and cloud servers (such as iCloud, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or Box).

THE SOLUTION

With the new Ricoh IMC Range scan to cloud applications, the individual or company can scan documents straight to any of the listed cloud servers listed in the court document. An automated workflow takes care of the scan to upload process and pre-configured settings confirm that the necessary documents have been scanned properly with readable quality before sending in a safe and secure way – ensuring the Court of Appeal will have the document quality required for the appeal itself.
