Bridge

From Georgian aesthetics to a modern masterpiece. This project was the epitome of collaboration with the coming together of Bridge, formerly MJ Hudson, our commercial furniture experts in Bizquip, and our in-house CAD expert Alison, collectively we brought their concept to reality.

About the project

In recent times, the Dublin office relocated from a historic Georgian building to a new and modern office building in Dublin 2. This gave the team a blank canvas in terms of what they could do from a design and fit-out perspective. It was important to them that the final finish was one that represented the professionalism, calibre, and global presence of the company.

3D CAD Renders for true to life visualisation

When we were approached by Bridge for their new office fit-out, we spent time understanding what they wanted to achieve in terms of functionality and design direction. Stylish new furniture, open-plan office space, meeting rooms and a staff canteen for the all-important downtime were central to our focus and deliverables for this project. This project was the epitome of collaboration with the coming together of Bridge, our commercial furniture experts in Bizquip, and our in-house CAD expert Alison, collectively we brought their concept to reality.

Asking anyone to visualise what is in the mind of another is always an impossible task.  Thanks to Alison’s CAD work, we were able to supply a series of 3D renders that were completely lifelike and created a vision of what our team had in store for this new office space. This enabled Bridge to make informed decisions when reviewing the proposed furniture layouts, when often a 2D layout can confuse people. These renders, in addition to visits to our showroom to see, test and feel the furniture we were proposing and recommending for their new offices, made the process seamless.

Having come from a Georgian office where open plan spaces were much smaller and meeting rooms more reserved to their new location which encouraged a much more modern office design that centred around communication, collaboration, shared thinking and more, brought with it a new way of imagining how the space should be used.

Privacy in the open plan

We installed single-person acoustic pods to facilitate private spaces needed to take a phone call or attend a video conference call.  The sleek and attractive design of these Framery Pods meant they fit in beautifully in the open plan design, adding a practical solution in a stylish manner.

Meeting rooms that exude (stylish) professionalism

When designing the meeting rooms, we opted for the Tao Table Collection, in black marble effect finish by Pedrali. The slim, contemporary finish of the laminate top is opulent in look, but robust in terms of practicality, ensuring robustness for its use in a meeting room setting.

Meeting room luxury was further defined in the boardroom with our use of the Pedrali Jazz chair in a salmon pink fabric with a gold leg frame, in soft contrast to the Mobili boardroom table in the carbon grey laminate top finish.

Colour and style throughout

Each meeting room was designed with a unique colour scheme that complimented the overall design concept defined at the outset of the project. For example, the quilted material selected in Aqua Marine finish for the Sitia Hibiscus chair offers added comfort and texture to this contemporary meeting chair. The stitching detail on the Hibiscus chair also showcases the craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process at Sitia, an Italian commercial seating manufacturer. Incidentally, this range of seating from Sitia is exclusively available from Bizquip who distributes for Sitia in Ireland.

The team in Bridge had a very clear vision of what they wanted to achieve through the materials, finishes and textures used and we were able to work closely with them in this decision-making process, offering a vast range of furniture options in a wide variety of colours and finishes from our European manufacturers. We love their choice of wall coverings. Don’t you? A beautiful example of residential design trends in a commercial space.

Functional choices, health-centric options

From the outset, functionality was at the forefront of our agenda, and we have coupled functionality with ergonomic properties with the use of electric and non-electric sit/stand desks for the team to use.  Coupled with best-in-class ergonomic task seating by Humanscale, the areas designed for focussed, desk-based work ensure comfort and health benefits. Biophilia was also introduced in this area of the office, another health benefit for the team to enjoy.

As you can see from the professional images and the 3D renders created, Bridge most certainly achieved their objectives. This project was made all the easier for their in-house team to conceptualise thanks to the support of our CAD team, and the ability to visit our showroom to really get a true feeling for how their new offices were going to look and feel.

The gallery of images below is a selection of the 3D renders that we created in-house, next to images of the finished product, a perfect example of the huge benefits of the provision of the 3D renders for Bridge.
