SK biotek Ireland Limited is a contract development and manufacturing organisation with over 50 years of active pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturing experience and SK biotek Ireland is the most recent addition to the SK Group.

SK biotek Ireland, based in Swords, Co. Dublin, has 600+ users on site across various buildings, comprising of Scientists, Chemists, Engineers, Quality Professionals carrying out research, development, manufacturing and marketing roles.

Working with the SK biotek IT team over several months in advance of deployment, Bizquip developed a plan built around a proof of concept, volume analysis, building design plans and the business needs. The key challenge for the senior management team within SK biotek was to create a modern, attractive and ergonomic workspace for its people, ensuring best practice security and compliance measures were in place and centrally managed for the ITS Team supporting the solution.

With a staff of over 600 some of the project challenges included:

• Commissioning of 28 new high-speed Ricoh Colour MFD’s with secure swipe card authentication
• Implement business processes to result in greater productivity
• Introducing the latest technologies to support the company’s needs
• Ensuring document output controls were in place ensuring best practice security and control

Introducing the SK biotek user to a fully Managed Document Solution, ensuring training, education, understanding and buy-in at each point along the way were key to ensuring the success of the solution.

When integrating a Secure Follow-You Print and Scan Document Solution with the SK biotek Active Directory and IT systems, the Bizquip Solutions team ensured that the solution facilitated the flexibility and scalability to meet the business demands.

Conducting a proof of concept trial period in advance, Bizquip ensured that the concept worked as expected and ensured that all the experience and requirements for the key areas of the business were met as part of its final solution design.

The solution provided a ‘single user experience’ for all users to help drive efficiencies and introducing a Secure Follow-You Document Solution allowing staff to move freely throughout the various on-site buildings and collect their print jobs from any device.

This introduced measures controlling document output costs across the business allowing for a print policy that reduced the carbon footprint.

The solution allows for 24-hour real-time, centralised monitoring, management, and reporting tools. This has maximised uptime of all print/copy/scanning devices across the business with Automatic Consumable and Device Alert notifications.

The solution design ensures the ‘right equipment in the right place at the right time for the right task’, while reducing IT management time and releasing them to focus on more business-critical operational tasks.

The solution implementation has been one of the highlights of the IT integration that we’ve been through during the transition of the Swords facility to SK. From the user perspective it really simplifies printing and from the IT side – it just works!
